Baryte

Most of our baryte comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Also often spelled as “barite” it has the chemical formula (BaSO4) and is a mineral consisting of barium sulfate. The baryte group consists of baryte, celestine, anglesite and anhydrite. Baryte is generally white or clear, it is one of the main sources of barium. Baryte and celestine form a solid solution (Ba,Sr)SO4.
